render not recording vst efx

For some reason when I render in Live it leaves out the fx that i'm using unless they're ones on the sends. The fx that are on the track directly aren't recorded. There is some change to sound of the rendered file but it's very slight. It doesn't sound anything like the original from the master out. I'm using only the ableton fx. For example the eq and erosion.
I've rendered fx succesfully on my powerbook so I know it's supposed to work. Any ideas???
I'm on a G4 400 using 9.2.2 and the soundmanager for the output.
Thanks.

i find myself doing this occasionally, but i polijize if i'm insulting your intelligence. if your loading the clip onto the same track that you rendered from, make sure that you bypass the effect that was on the track when you listen to the new clip, or just listen to it on a new track.

thanks for the reply but that wasn't it. i was listening to the rendered files with the pre-listen function not actually loading them back into the track.
i seem to have fixed it though. i noticed there was an update to 1.5 so i d/led it and installed 1.5.2 and now it seems to work fine.
thanks for the help anyway.

From 1.5 on the render-function is able to go through one loop-cycle before it is actually rendered, so all effects including longer delays are being captured.

Hey Dick Richards,
Just wanted you to know, I still enjoy your minneapolis set from March(?) Great transitions, development, austerity, yet accessible and fun. It's a great example of what Live 1.0, a tibook, 0S9, and soundmanager could do.
Which brings to mind, what do people do with their old sets? For example, I find myself wanting to hear if perhaps you've tweaked this set since then. Does an old set grow with you, or is it ditched in favor of a totally fresh start?
thanks, Steve
(sorry I blew the topic)

Just to hijack this thread further, is this set online somewhere? I'd like to check out as many Live sets as I can. Anyone?

Hey, thanks alot! I'm glad you liked it.
I used that set for the raum...musik label tour in Germany and Switzerland in April and it changed a bit but not too much. I guess every time you play it's a little different depending on how you use the efx and which parts you bring in when etc. My next gig after that wasn't until September in Montreal and I decided to do up an entirely new set by then.
On a side note, 4 of the songs from the Minneapolis set were released on my cd on raum...musik "amanecer". They were written with Live for the set and then I reworked them in Logic for the album.
If you want to hear my latest Live set it's at ...
http://www.dickrichards.com/mtl.html
It's not the actual gig but a recording of test run I did before the actual gig. I was reaching my cpu limit and I didn't want anything to fuck up during the gig if I recorded it (within Live).

I can't download the protogig set. IE claims that the file is not available. Anyone else had this problem?

Sorry guys. The file is hosted at
www.notype.com and for some reason they seem to be down right now. It should be back in a couple of days at least.
