I constantly see people complaining about posts by 3phase or 3phase himself.

Now, once and for all: who is 3phase and why is he supposed to be such a pain in the a***?

he is an amorphous imaginary being used by Ableton to frighten DJs into behaving. The monster has no specific appearance, and conceptions about it can vary drastically from household to studio within the same community; in many cases, he has no set appearance in the mind of a DJ, but is simply a non-specific embodiment of terror. Posters may tell their children that if they misbehave the 3Phase will get them. He may target a specific mischief — for instance, when he punishes fanboys who suck their thumbs — or general misbehaviour, whichever need serves the forum's purpose best.

In some Midwestern states of the United States, he scratches at the window. In the Pacific Northwest, he may manifest in "green fog". In other places, he hides or appears from under the bed or in the closet and tickles DJs when they go to sleep at night. It is said that a wart can be transmitted to someone by the brown henke dither.

He claims he is some big time DJ, but I for one have not heard his stuff, though I would like to.

I think the way he comes across on posts makes him a pain, but some of his posts do make sense.

He transcends spelling and grammar checker.

i get the feeling he spends way more time talking about gear and posting on forums than he (or she) spends actually making or producing music. i could be wrong tho.

i guess the advantage to anonymity on this board is no one can just dismiss your comments as bullshit because they heard your music and don't think its good.

first rule about 3phase is not to talk about 3phase.
but i will say this, there is a rumor going around that 3phase and John Gordon are working on an exclusive
beta of ableton live that is said to instantly kill the user as soon as Live is launched and the user thinks he or she is actually a musician, and it's a little known fact that they have been passing the beta
around to unsuspecting forum members who ask about either of them so..................i'd be careful.

needs it some vocals. i'd fix Rick Ross myself but beat repeat keeps crashing on Fredericksburg.
