even when i dont care about mfl features its scarry when they leave us in such a state with L8..
dont know if i will be into buying L9 and repeat the struggle as a paying betatester..
i guess the set of new features will be pretty iresistable again.. but when they dont fix L8 first..
I also wonder how expensiv the L9 upgrade will be.. acording to the usualy ableton philosophy they have to make us pay for the extended development time. So even more unresitable features have to be inthe packet..
Only problem..when its not stable the fanboys wont let us know in time as the L8 release has shown..
So too bad that i as the hardest critic wont be able to tell you

... fanboi turned skeptic here...
L9 should be stable when the last RC comes out..
otherwise I'm not in...
but in the meantime...
a new version is urgent since the last is out(for me)
since 8.2.1 is messy with Max 5.1.8 ..
.. and this time
I would like my NI plugs to function like they did up to upgrading...
pretty please with sugar on top..

I believe the the current Ableton management team is the worst since L1. they make bold statements and announcements that they do not stick to. they promise feature then do not deliver. and they keep saying we are a small company as if this is a good excuse. well, the Maschine will soon eat up ableton's share in the market and they will see that they had it but couldn't keep up to it.
I don't know if I will buy into L9 as well.

Dude I think you might be confusing Cairo with Kabul.
I'll give you a clue...
Cairo:
.
Kabul:
..or perhaps you're not confusing them. Perhaps you just enjoy conspicuous displays of ignorance.

not in a million years..
I don't understand why you people keep comparing the two..
while there are some obvious similarities Live is still way ahead of Maschine..

Hmm - I wonder if excel could be extended via .net addins to lauch midi/audio and video clips in sync with each other (they can probbaly allready hold and laucnh media clips)?

actually some ecxel functionality would suite live well.. like meta clips or graphics import

I live in Maadi too. may be when you come to visit we could meet over coffee and become friends. after all, I don't think our difference of opinion about Live 8 will make us enemies.

I think this sums up how a lot of people use Live: popping samples into a timeline (E.G. garageband like). I don’t have NI Maschine but I assume from what I’ve seen it’s great for beats, samples, drum patterns and manipulation of these. However, can you put a soft synth into the mix? Can you record your band? Bass, Guitar, Synth ECT. Yes, Live does some of the functions of Maschine and Maschine does some of the functions of Live but they are different animals.
