any tips on mixing and production and whatnot would be very appreciated, but please check out the first audio recording ive done on ableton for my band.

well for guitar i used pod farm, but for everything else i used basically just native Live instruments, like for the drums i used Drum Rack.

get the addictive drums vst, from XLN audio. theres torrents for it. they have THE BEST metal kit ive ever heard. you may have to download the metal preset seperately somewhere, i cant remember..

I dunno about guitar though, I actually played mine. id prefer to program it but there doesnt seem to be a realistic sounding guitar plugin anywhere..

maybe a touch of compression on the kicks, and try and seperate the bass out a bit more, but im listening on headphones. other than that its sick!

thanks guys, yeah the compression on the kick definitely helped out alot in my more recent mixes, it made it less of a thud and gave it more of a click and punch. now my problem is trying to thicken the snare. lol
