MPK25 knob mapping

Hey, is it just me or when you try to map something to the knobs of the AKAI MPK25 nothing's happening?
check your preferences>MIDI SYNC then go to the section where it says "midi ports" there should be an input and output for your mpd.....under the column that says "remote"...make sure both of those,the input and output, are turned "ON" for the mpd.
you should be good to go after that.
