Abelton with external Nord issues

Hi guys,
I'm having several issues integrating my nord 2 into ableton. I have it routed into input 1 on the 410 audio interface and controlled via midi from abelton. All working relatively fine.
But the first thing I want to do is be able to control panning/volume using the mixer in abelton. Is this possible? I know I can send midi to control volume but would like to use the fader on the incoming signal.
Also Id like to be able to apply plugin software effects on the nords audio in. I have manged to do this if i set the nord on one midi channel and another audio channel.
I know there is an external instrument plugin but to apply abeltons effects I put them on the audio channel with nord audio input.
Problem is that Im hearing the nord plus the nord with effects. So i can lower the effects treated nord but not the nord dry volume , just mute and unmute!
Another issue Im having is that anytime I click on a channel strip in abelton it resets the nord parameters so I have to go to next program and back to original one on the nord to get back the settings. This is very annoying.
