Bad CPU issue - solution

Just in case anyone else gets this or currently has any weird CPU issues.
I have a laptop and have been using an internal card and occasionally a midi keyboard or a launchpad, never both. This has been working fine for me with 8.2.2.
I had a better quality Lineport UX2 USB soundcard and finally got a desk to be able to hook everything up at once. The result was chaos. after a few minutes the cpu would climb and eventually max out with major glitching. I had noticed that people had been having issues with external USB hubs but I thought I would be ok with the internal USB ports. Seems not.
I discovered that if I plugged the UX2 and Launchpad into the two back ports of the laptop I would get this issue. If I moved the launchpad to the side USB port on the laptop it disappeared and system ran as expected. I can only assume that running two heavy usb devices into the same internal hub of a laptop is just too much for it.
If I get a new laptop I will get one with firewire so I can have the soundcard on that and keep any midi controllers seperated on USB.
