hey guys,
Im not sure if this is possible, but I'd like to use the faders on the Behringer BCF2000 to control eight general sub-groups (which is what I'm currently doing), but then also, at the push of a button, control eight smaller sub-groups of percussion and drums. That way I can flip between controlling the mix and dynamics of an overall piece of music, but then also - flip - and focus on the mix and dynamics of the drums by themselves.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Or are the eight faders only meant to control eight distinct parts?

I've been through the BCF2000 manual and couldn't find the answer.

It's definitely possible with the eight endless-encoders at the top of the unit (I'm using them for sends A/B/C/D at the moment).

new preset ?

I own the BCF and the BCR and i am more than happy wth the setup. The BCR are for self programmed midi, and the BCF are running in Mackie mode. You could also set up your BCF to work in Mackie mode. This way you will be able to control almost everything in live. If you visit Mackie.com you can download the PDF for Mackie mode. I personally use the the BCF with the little handy software LXview which lets you see what you are doing when your are working with the BCF in Mackie mode. first when you see what you are doing you will realize that the Mackie mode is very powerfull and you neeed something like LXview to get the hole potencial out of your controller. If you read the manuals carefully you will be very happy to control Live with your BCF, its very powerfull and saves you alot of time, and offcourse is also a lot of FUN.......

If you have max/m4l there is this osc wrapper, you can then make a device that does this.

You need to set the cc's on the bcf as instructed in the wrapper patch, and set the bcf to track in and out in live's pref's and set the midi routing on the track your device is on.

I have been working on a mixer that lets you select which track each 'strip' on the bcf controls.

The other option is that you use 2 presets on the bcf, one for the top level and one for the sub-group, then manually map the controls you want.
