hi there! i have a question about the akai mpc 1000. how many audiotrack can i play at one ? how long can the played back audio tracks be? is there a limitation? are the samples then streamed from the 128mb internal flash? or can they directely be streamed from cf-card or harddrive?
and at least: is the volume of the different audiotracks cotrollable via midi? best wishes!

polifony is 32 notes, meaning 16 stereo, if i'm not wrong.
you stream samples from the ram, but there is a way, that i never tried to use it as a hd recorder, in this case you stream from the flash or your internal hd,
the time limit is the size of your hd or flash card.

ah, ok,great! when ican stream from cf-card or harddrive, that would be perfect for me. i only need 8 stereo tracks. that shpould work :)
thanks!

...you just don't get it, fieldy...

Reducing a mpc to an audiotrackstreamer and complaining about the ram is the most stupid thing i've ever heard....you got no clue what these machines supposed to do....

Go and get yourself a zoom multitracker....you won't miss a thing....

yeah i got that. but for live purposes i need a machine being able to playback 4-8 loops, because i don`t come out with the 8 tracks in the octatrack. a second ot would be a choice also a zoom r8 recorder. problem at the zoom: i can`t sync it via midi
