launchpad user 2 mode

Hi!
Maybe it's obvious, but I just can't figure out how, or is it possible, to use user mode 2 for playing instruments. When I switch to user mode 1 the midi channel automaticaly receives message and I can play drum racks. User mode 2- nothing is happening? although ableton is receiving midi messages

User 2 is for max4live i believe, not sure what it really does without it...

its not just for max for live
its basically open for mapping anything you want, turning on effects, or you can use a whole row to control a knob. check out novations website, they have videos on all the modes. user 1 is for playing notes on an instrument.

yes, I managed to use user 2 for controlling parameters of devices, turning knobs etc..., but cant get it to send notes to synths or samplers/drum rack so I can play it as with keyboard. User 1 mode is doing this without problem

Looked it up... notes = user 1 ccs= user 2... I can access user 1 with m4l but it's all screwed up....
