Why do my envelopes get disabled in Session View?

Sorry I have done some research but havent been able to find anything, Im not sure if I am asking the right question? I am very new to Ableton and production in general...
But why is it that if I work with an envelop in Session view, sometimes the red square next to their name that shows that theyre working sometimes goes gray and stops working?
