is the hissing being picked up from the mic? are you using the laptop's built in mic? more info needed in order to help...

1. Does your laptop use a three prong plug? I know that my laptop makes lots of noise when it is plugged into an outlet. Especially when anything with a speaker shares that same outlet!! Amps can be sensitive to all kinds of noise happening through your house's wiring. Make sure to really pay attention with your ears, and see if you can pinpoint ANY kind of sound. Humans have selective hearing and can tune that stuff out, but a mic picks it up full on, and it become a pain in the butt.

2. I don't know how large your room is, or what kind of mic you are using, or the distance of the mic from the amp, but if your laptop fan turns on at all, the wrong kind of mic will absolutely pick up on it. The solution??... possibly having an entire room between the mic and the laptop.
