Ableton Live 8.2.2 Automap 3.7b1 (recorded automation is jerky) problems

Any ideas?

Automap has never really worked with live

the plugin window has to be open to control the plug

in the video note
how jerky the automation is
i am moving the controller smoothly
and the change in the filter is smooth but what is recorded is jerky

note at the end
i move the configured setting
and see how many more controller events are recorded?

when i change from asio to MME dirrect x it works ok but not great

I have a RME hammerfall 9632 audio card

update

asio 'full duplex driver' seems to work ok

but its unusable with buffer sizes of 2048!!

I tried Automap-3.7.4 same shiz different version number

and i uninstalled the driver and tried 3.4.1 same shiz

other people have said earlier version of live work better with it

my thougths

its 2011 and music companies still suck at technical support

but on the plus side i remember the earlier version of automap had a button to turn automap on /off on each plug, which is a really great feature. so i might stuck with the downgrade fro that feature

i'd love to know why it doesn't work with live

also automation records perfectly with the plugin TURNED OFF?
and better with massive soundcard latency

i recon thats a clue

after running some tests it automap works in live 8.1.3 but not 8.2.2

i'm not sure if i should downgrade

to summarise

automap (any version) and live 8.2 records jerky automation if the plug is set to ON
if its set to OFF it record without jerking(not really a work around but a CLUE)

i tried live 8.1.3 AND IT RECORDED AUTOMATION WITHOUT JERKING
live 8.2.2 DOES NOT RECORD WITHOUT JERKING

ALSO IF I TURN THE plugin TO OFF the automation records without jerking


Are you guys going to fix this or do i need to downgrade?

if you are experriencing this problem, s a few people are

Please create a status report and send it to live

ie

open a project
move the automation with automap
go to create status report in the menu

send it to to [email protected]

along with this information

the problem starts with 8.1.4
it doesn't happen with the plug turned OFF
it happens less with huge latency seeting on the audio card

They are responding but so far they have not accepted that it is a bug

Has this issue been fixed in 8.2.5? I see no mention of it in the changelog.

I'll email them and ask.

Currently, the Automap/VST automation issue is rather high on our list, but I still can't give you a specific date or version where we'll address this.

Thanks for the update. I can also confirm that Automap 4 does not make the problem any better (not that I expected it to, since the issue seems to be on Ableton's end).

they were concentrating on 'other stuff' rather than 'functionality'

Hopefully they may fix the 'total incompatibility with automap'.

How long has the problem existed for now?
How many Live and Automap users are there?
