Internal routing points for feedback loop of delay effects. In Looper you can send the signal through another track before it goes back into Looper to repeat, allowing effects to be laid on top of each other at each repeat. It'd be nice to have this for Live's delay effects too.

This is an effect available in some guitar delay pedals, e.g.:

Even better: having this as part of a new multi-tap delay effect that would have a separate routing point for each tap.

It's fun to route Looper back through another effect and you can get a pseudo-delay-type effect with low feedback and very short loops but it's awkward, difficult to reproduce and it would be much easier and more useful to be able to do something similar with Live's delays.

The important thing is that you put the delay in a rack. Otherwise it won't work. Works great with all kinds of distortion (overdrive, redux, etc). I keep the feedback on the delay itself on zero. You can give more feedback by adjusting the gain of the sidechain.

Yes, I've tried it with sends/returns and it can work fairly well but I still think it'd be somewhat easier and more elegant with it added as a feature a la Looper. It can be a bit fiddly getting the levels right without getting horrific feedback. Definitely not a 'set and forget' effect!

You can map the sidechain gain to a macro so you can set a usable range for the repeats.

This setup is the closest I got to emulate the sound of logic's tape delay. The settings in the pic are just default settings. Adjust to taste.
