Recording Looper actions in a Live set

Hey guys
Hoping someone can shed some light on a problem that has been plaguing me all afternoon. I have a Looper set up in a Live set for use when DJing Live, the Looper works perfectly and keeps perfect time as expected. The (big) problem I'm having is that I want to be able to record the Live set and when I do so Looper goes horribly wrong. The issues I'm having are as follows:
While recording, Looper and other actions play correctly and Looper follows the Live set's tempo and Global Quantisation and everything sounds in time, however when I stop and play back the Recorded set the Looper no longer seems to follow the Live set and instead makes (bad) guesses at the tempo for a loop when it is activated. Eg when played in it will be 126 but then playing back it will be 126.53
Also the automation envelope for 'State' in the Looper 'greys' itself out and activates the 'Back to arrangement' button when playing back, so even if the loops were in time the rest of the state data is ignored when rendering to disk.
I'm on an iMac running 8.2.2 but I tried my MacBook Pro and 8.1 and it does the same thing?!
I've searched for a good few hours and have not even found anyone mentioning this problem, is this just a bug or is it a limitation of Looper? Is Looper not designed for recording into sets??!?
