Midi automation problems! Help!

In a few words.
My old audio card was M-audio 2496, my new card is Echo Audiofire 8.
Since I bought Echo I can't use automation in clips like I did before to control their parametres.
They works different with sending midi and receiving audio from my external synths such a nord rack 2 or virus b.
1. Automation #1
With M-audio it is possible to make such an automation with buffer size 128 and get a proper sound from external synth.
With Echo I got audio like I didn't write any automation. To make it works somehow I should change buffer to more than 500!
2. Automaiton #2
M-audio works as before - perfect.
Echo - better than before, but not as good as M-audio and not so clean. Buffer size should be much bigger than M-audio's.
When I tried to sends midi thru M-audio and got audio thru Echo (in case 1 and 2) the situation was the same like I used only Echo.
What is the reason of such a behavior? Whan can I do with Echo to make it work like my old M-audio with this automations???
