Programing AI interface for ableton?

I like to connect ai (artificial intelligence) programms which can learn with a running ableton live set.
Does someone has experience how this could work most simply?
The basic idea is that the ai program can define instruments, parameters of the instruments, notes and timing, can send this to ableton, can receive some feedback from the user (like/ don't like) and can change is music program while playing.
Ideally the programing interface to ableton would allow to have any other program to communicate via this interface (socke?) with ableton written in C/C++, Java, python,...) . In a more restricted sense it would be integrated -- like Max4Life -- into ableton with its own programming interface.
