i have a noob question.

i have sequenced a drum track in the arrangment view using clips from the session view. what i want to do is add crash cymbals here and there and make some slight alterations but, the thing is, when i add a crash cymbal to one clip, it adds the crash to all the other clips too. how can i stop this from happening?

Is that because you have a clip looped in arrangement? If so, select a range where you want to make some edits, and split the clips (ctrl/cmd+J, or use the menu). Watch out that you don't split any MIDI note, since it'll get cut off. Now you have a separate clip so edits made to it do not affect the other clip(s).

Alternatively, make a new MIDI track just for your crash cymbals, and route it to your drum track by setting its "MIDI To" chooser to your drum track. Now you can send extra MIDI notes without editing other clips.
