Hello,

When I have the focus on a VST window and I press the Key "Down" or "Up" on the keyboard, these keyboard events are NOT transmitted to the VST !

Even if I set "MIDI Keyboard Off" (CTRL+MAJ+K) in ABleton live, it's the same :

it seems that Ableton Live doesn't transmit all the keyboard events to the VST !
Thus , I cannot use the shortcuts from this VST !!

PS: this is available in Cubase with the option “PlugIns receive key commands” in the Preferences dialog.

In Cubase there is an option called :

"PlugIns receive key commands”

that helps the VST to receive the key shortcuts !

Does this existe in Ableton Live ?

See in preferences, midi, select track and remote for input and same for output, it should work.

I'm not speaking about a MIDI keyboard, not speaking about "notes", I'm speaking about the "computer keyboard" :

when I press some keys like "F8", or "DOWN ARROW" or "UP ARROW" these keyboard events are not sent to the VST!
Even if the VST windows has the focus.

When I'm in a VST window, I would like that the keyboard shortcuts like F8 , UP arrow, DOWN arrow, ALT+P , etc. go to the VST !!! and not to Ableton !

How to do this?

I know this mode (I just read 25.2.5 and I know this procedure) but it doesn't seem to make possible what I mean.

Imagine you have many Views in the VST (the view is NOT MIDI/key assignable like usual parameters that you can MIDI learn, etc.).
This VST (it is Steinberg Halion) is configured to receive things "F8" or any other keyboard letter in order to change the View.

This is not a key or MIDI learnable parameter (like in 25.2.5), do you see what I mean ?

Live will not transmit these keys to the VST...

I think it just depends on the VST.

For example, Reaktor VST understands the arrow keys for switching snapshots.

Thank you dom, but I already tried this Options.txt trick with -_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins .

It doesn't change anything in Halion : impossible to browse between the files with UP / DOWN arrows.
These keyboard messages are not transmitted ....
