I want to randomize the playback of audio clips in a live session. Can I use MAX to do that?

Lom, live object model, can be found by opening a max patch and going to help... or googling it on the web.the tutorial can be found by going into live's tutorials.

They can be used to modulate a Clip's dedicated parameters, ... Automating the Sample Offset parameter shuffles the beats in a loop to create new patterns. ... the playback position within the Clip forwards or backwards in time. The shift amount is quantised to 16th notes (with a maximum shift of half a bar)

Did you consider 'follow actions' ? there are some very interesting possibilities that don't imply M4L.
