Sustain Pedal Does Not Release When Pedal is Released

My sustain pedal will trigger the sustain but needs to be stepped on again to stop the sustain.

This doesn't always happen.

What do I need to do to make sure the sustain is only sustaining the note while the pedal is being held down?

(For example in a Korg Triton I need to go into global settings and change the polarity.)

Thank you for your help.

Ableton - your tech support is excellent.

Sustain pedal values need to be:

pedal pressed: CC 64 = 127
pedal released: CC 64 = 0

There are four options to change this:

Most pedals have a physical switch to reverse the polarity.

With some pedals, switching the polarity might work this way:

Plug the cable in while pedal is pressed.

Unplug the cable while pedal is pressed, then replug while not pressed.

Reverse the polarity in the editor of the keyboard/controller to which the pedal is connected.

A MIDI translator (www.bome.com, http://web.mac.com/nicowald/SubtleSoft/MidiPipe.html) can be used to reverse the polarity.
