Automating an dEffect On/Off?

Post by gabster » Wed Jun 29, 2011 5:34 pm

Hi knowledgable folks!

This might be very obvious but... How does one automate an effect to turn on or off on a track in Arrangement view?

Thanks,
Gabster

It's only obvious if you know the answer :-)

From the automation drop down menu pick the on "device on" parameter for the effects you want to automate. then use the pencil tool (this is accurate to the grid) to draw in the automation.

Any questions just shout.

Thanks a ton for the reply!! I saw the automation button (the + sign) that shows you the automation lane - but there I wasn't able to select anything unfortunately - Am I looking in the right place? I have an audio track -

thanks!
Gabster.

You want the two boxes above the plus sign. The top one is for picking your effect and the bottom one for picking the parameter of that effect that you are aiming to automate.

Let me know how you get one.

Cheers
