I've owned Live since v1... and I keep leaving it for Cubase or Logic because there's no way to draw a line between 2 points to define the MIDI controller data!

I can't believe it's 2011 and I'm even typing this... ;)

BTW, while you're at it, add a sine wave tool like Cubase! It's so powerful!!!!!

Oh, and how about a really easy way to type in the value? Like the value 0.

Peace,
NN

u can in draw mode, press ctr and then drag and you can create lines for the selcted values, altought u must first select the notes u want to affect.

yes the work flow just sucks...

it could be done with the right mouse button. but these guys at ableton just dont get it,

we have 3 buttons and the just use the left mouse button, then you have to switch between draw and pencil mode, then press ctr to draw lines..

we could use :

left mouse button to : paint, move and slect notes
right to delete.
left to create free editing of notes parameters
and right to create lines of paramter values...

fast, easier and simpler...

When I hold down the control key, the cursor displays a menu and when I click, the options menu appears. I tried every combo of key stroke w/ draw mode on and notes selected and wasn't able to draw a line for a smooth ramp up/down of controller data.

I don't believe there is a Line tool for editing the MIDI CC data in v 8.2.2

Update:
What I was doing wrong was I started my line by clicking on the first event. You can only start the line in an area that doesn't have event data.

I still don't know how to enter in absolute values, but I'll update this again if I find out.
