Trouble with Export WAV of clips copied into ArrangementView

I spent sometime struggling to make this work:

- Worked in Session view with audio recordings and mp3s
- Copied clips from Session view into Arrangement view
- Selecting those clips in Arrangement view
- Exporting from Arrangement view to a WAV file

What I kept getting was a full size WAV file (40 mg) of the right time length..... but no sound! I did a number of things, including using the "Back to Arrangement" button, making sure I selected the track from Arrangement, making sure the full time was selected, but got same "no sound" but full size WAV file.

Eventually I gave up. I deleted the tracks in the Arrangement View, and did a recording session from the Session View with my clips. Then I exported from the Arrangement view to a WAV file successfully.

Any tips on how to copy clips from Session to Arrangement, and then successfully export to WAV?

Thanks,
-- Joe

P.S. I did not do anything (knowingly) to any Mixer or Automation parameters.

FYI, figured it out. Needed to set Monitor to "In". Before this, I haven't had to adjust the Monitor; the "Auto" setting took care of me. Put that doesn't happen when you copy clips from Session to Arrangement.

Google searching makes a big difference...

I still really don't understand this. Tried it again tonight. That is, copied a clip over from Session to Arrangement. Tried all kinds of things to get a wav file via Export, but they all had no sound.

I gave up. I got my recording by use record from the Clips view, and had to wait for the whole clip to play through to make the record.

Is there any step-by-step explanation of how to make this happen? Right now, I'm very baffled and frustrated.

Thx,
