Hi, maybe I'm confused, but my copy of Ableton 8 came with my Mustang guitar amp, and it came with a serial number, and although I entered the serial number when installing it, it won't let me save / export?

Why?

Did you make sure you entered the number with the actual version live that came with your Amp ?
In general Live versions that come with software/hardware as "bonus" in the pack are Lite versions, and not regular/suite versions. If you previously downloaded another Live 8 from another source, it won't be working. If you have the problem with the CD that came with your amp, ask Ableton support about activation issues.

Live Lite.....

So just to be clear, if it's Live Lite, then you can't save/export? I figured it was just Live with less instruments and features.

I don't see why I would've had to enter a code if I was unlocking a version that came with less features than the 30-day demo....

you should be able to save, export, etc.
I think the limitations of Live Lite are on the amount of tracks, and effects you can use.

have a look at the menu 'help->about' screen and it should show your serial there, if not then you didn't enter it correctly, or more likely ... you haven't authorised it yet.

go to Options ->Preferences ->user account licenses and see what it says there.
itshould show a button allowing you to authorise online, or something.

I am unfamiliar with how the Lite version operates.
