What do you cats use to record your mixes ?

I need a new cheap way for recording my work
frustrated that I can't record linearly.
It seems that I need to perform an arrangement of scenes as a piece - out of the box to a CD recorder or WAV / mp3 recorder. Then record that back into the box to upload to the "cloud".
. . . or . . . ?

Is this a trick question? Can't you record your session into arrangement view, tweak to taste, then render as whatever format you want? Might want to sneak a peek at the manual...Please forgive me if I've misunderstood, but recording and rendering your mix is one of the raisons d'etre of Live!

oh, I am a bit dim. . .
I NEVER have worked in arrangement view - only session view, then firing scenes from there in sequence. Played today with copying & pasting clips into arrangement view & voila ! An entire linear arrangement
Thanks Huge !

I record in ableton from session to arrangement and then I send the mix from ableton through soundflower to audacity then export the file as an mp3.

If what I'm doing requires me to stop Live's transport but keep recording, I put Guitar Rig player on the Master channel and use its tape recorder to capture Live's output.

i just create an audio track, set input type to 'resampling'.
essentially, what this does is record the master output in realtime.

For the set I'm recording, I usually run the master into a return bus in Live, then out of my audio interface into the studio mixer. Then, I use a send on the mixer back into another computer, which is running Live version 4. The master mix from that is sent back out into the studio mixer on another set of sends, and back into the first computer, where it is recorded into a second instance of Live version 6, running on a virtual box with a different audio interface. Finally, it's bounced around in the sends/returns until it is resampled and finally sent back out to a DAT recorder. The DAT tape is put into the mail (poor man's copyright). When it is returned to me I record it into Cubase, where it is then exported as needed.

If that's the case what will REALLY blow your mind is when you work out what the record button at the top of the screen does!

I should add, in the interest of not just being snarky, that if you hit record at the top in the main transport what happens is it will record all the actions you perform in session view into the arrange view - so you can do what you've been doing triggering clips and then have a record of that performance to play back, edit or render out as an audio file. This is one the BIG things with Live.

This is my flow too (although I skip the soundflower part, as I'm on PC, and record the master out of my audio interface into Audacity) and it works well/easy for me.
