Upgrading question

Been thinking about upgrading and have a question. I currently have Live Lit Akai Edition. If I upgrade to Live (not suite) I know it has more functionality, but does it have better sounds such as better synths and violins etc?

uh....LIVE has more sounds than the akai lite version....i wouldn't necessarily say better sounds.....if you get the boxed version, it comes with the "essential instrument collection"...still, just kind of the same deal, just more of it. in my opinion.....don't let it be a deal breaker for you though, if you don't dig lives instruments....LIVE is worth upgrading to from the lite version anyhow....in scene and track amounts alone.

Thanks for the reply. In the unboxed version of Live do I have the ability to record a door squeak and then turn it into something I can play keyboard chords with?

yes using simpler....does the akai version come with that? you might be able to do that now.....also... when you buy live, it cuts the price of suite down substantially.

I does it sort of. It makes it so it will change the tone of the note depending on the key I hit, but it it doesn't keep the timing consistent - in other words low notes are longer and higher notes are shorter, making it useless.

Most samplers do this, and to answer your question, no, you won't get more sounds upgrading to just Live. If you want all the instruments you'll need to upgrade to the suite.

Boxed live comes with the EIC 2......that would be a few GB's of new sounds. Not to buck or anything. :D

You don't need boxed live to get more samples though, just an internet connection.

When you said "instruments" did you mean samples? or Tension, Simpler, etc?

Simpler and impulse come w/ the regular Live, Analog, Tension, Operator, Sampler, and some others come w/ the suite.
