Urgent Help Needed! - Problem with CPU-Overload

Hi there,
tomorrow i have a music-test and i need to perform with ableton...
Now since i wanted to open it today there is a huge CPU overload when i play a synthesizer...
it does not matter which synth i play - it is around 70% and when i change to the next chord it is about 120%
a few days before everything was fine and i did not change anything!!
i use a macbook pro and a m-audio 410 interface -
i tried another firewire interface but the problem is still the same!
