Issues with MOTU Ultralite, Live and Mac Book Pro...

I am experiencing a very demoralizing issue with my set-up right now. Only in recent weeks has this started to dog my sessions. I am using a Mac Book Pro 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM, a MOTU Ultralite (with it's power supply and a FW400 connection to the MBP) as well as an AKAI APC40...

The issue is that when I am working, at random times, the audio will just drop out entirely and I have to quit what I'm doing and re-start everything. When this issue first started happening, it was only once in a while, now it's every few minutes. You can imagine how frustrating this is.

I have trouble-shot different FW cables, using the power supply, powering from the bus on the lap top, pretty much everything I can imagine, but the issue persists. Probably the most annoying thing is that I can spend hours with music playing through iTunes uninterrupted, but when I go to work there it is, no audio. This issue also occurs when I'm previewing music on Boomkat or playing back videos from Vimeo or something. Do any of you have any insight into this? Is it my MOTO or the lap top? I have gigs approaching and this is cutting into my time to work quite severely. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Same problem.
I'm trying to guess what the problem is: Hardware issue, soft/config issue, ... ?
Motu says nothing about... New driver, same problem.
I remember stability before snow leopard, and I'm thinking in downgrading my OS, and the problem will be over, but before doing this, I'll make my last test next Tuesday, because now I'm out for hollydays.

USB cable and ultralite's power supply.
Have you tested this config?
Any clue?
