Out of Memory Issue KILLING ME

I understand that Ableton Live is a 32 bit program and therefore is only capable of using 4 GB of RAM. Besides the fact that this is ridiculous, I need a solution now because 21 crashes in one day is slowly bringing me to insanity.

The Out of Memory error message has constantly been plaguing me.

For the record,

1) None of my clips are in RAM mode

2) The VSTs I am using are somewhat RAM heavy (i.e. Nexus) and I am unable to flatten them.

3) When I first open Live with 0 instruments, 0 clips, 0 effects, my activity monitor is telling me that it is using a virtual memory size of 2.2 GB (basically I have 1.8 GB of RAM headroom until it crashes at 4 GB)

4) My projects are relatively big, but definitely not worthy of constantly crashing.

I really hope someone can provide me with a quick solution because waiting for a 64 bit application is the last thing I'd like to do right now. Please someone help me. (Unless Ableton is willing to send their 64 bit version to me!!!!! :))
