ableton will not receive signal from midi interface

I have a m-audio profire 610 firewire connected to motherboard port and, i plug a yamaha dtxpress 3 into the midi in and usually ableton midi track will start blinking yellow when the signal is received, this worked fine on my old box us-122 and still does, but i wanted to upgrade to this box, so i downloaded midi-ox to see if the box was bad and it is not... it is receiving signal just fine, ableton will just not accept the signal, what should i do? where do i start? thank you so much for any help
