Hello,
I recently made a huge switch in DAW's from garageband to Abelton 8 Suite (midiboard and apc40).
I have some old songs or parts that I would liek salvage and load up in abelton, my question is what is the best way of re-creating old garageband songs i have with the gb files, into abelton. Any help would be great, it seems like a monstrous tasks with some of my bigger garageband files full of automations, I just want an efficient method to try? Thank you!

Re: Working between Garageband and Abelton Live
I don't think there's a way to get your automations and effects into Live. What you can do (and this seems to be fairly standard practice from what I understand) is to print those tracks as pure vanilla audio that can be imported into Live.
There's a trick somewhere using GarageBand's freeze function where you can go pick up the freeze files out of the .band archive. There will be one file per track, and you can then load those into Live.
