Repairing library

Sorry if I sound an idiot, I've just bought a laptop with Ableton Live 8 on it and started ableton up and tried to use the presets and it told me that I can't use them and that they were "probably broken". I have looked around forums for info on this and everyone says repair the library first. Okay, so I look for the repair library button in ableton and I can't frickin' find it. I acknowledge that I'm missing something glaringly obvious but I'd LOVE it if someone just took me through how to sort this problem out in relative layman's terms bcause as of yet I'm quite computer and indeed ableton illiterate. Thanks!
