Remaster non-Live recordings in Live?

I have some old stuff I recorded before I got Live, which I want to release. But the volume from song to song is inconsistent. How can I best use Live to fix this?

I know I can increase/decrease gain on audio samples, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't change the sample itself, only how it's played in the Live set. Do I just have to import each song one at a time, and record each one onto a new master track, at the same volume each time?

If so, will keeping the Master track's volume control in the exact same spot for each recording result in all the recordings having the same volume level? Or do other adjustments need to be made? (Like to clip gain...)

Thanks.

Load audio, adjust volume to taste with clip volume or track volume, export. :)

If you want to get more elaborate about mastering, you can use a mastering effect chain of some kind too. It's all what you want to do, really.

IF you do want to limit it, try the (free) yohng W1 limiter plugin - http://www.yohng.com/software/w1limit.html
