Live needs a better editor for envelopes. Here is how I would like to see it done, or something similar. Sorry for the crap photoshop. i had to use clips from alchemy to show the envelope shapes. Not ideal.



The length is based off of the area selected. You can select the number of repetitions, fade in/out at beginning and end, and speeding up/down at beginning and end. the shapes should be user configurable in some way. Here I just copied a MSEG type config from Alchemy. A concave/convex slider and spline +/- slider could work too and further simplify the interface.

Live's envelope editing functionality is being eclipsed by other companies and their bright ideas these days. I'm sure they know this and are working on making their stuff better than the competition. Alchemy is an amazing synth with so much capability, that they just up the ante for everybody else. Ableton must push the envelope (sorry) even further to get back ahead of the competition out there.

This in turn keeps innovation and progress rolling and makes the music industry much more healthy as a whole.

I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I was talking about the image, not comparing Alchemy to Live or even saying I wan the envelopes from Alchemy in Live. I had to use little pics from alchemy because I didn't know of a better way to create to envelopes for the picture I made. There are these big squares in the way, so it doesn't look all that great. This is the wish list area as well, and this is the one big wish I have for Live 9.
