Audio not importing with certain .MOV file

Hi,

I have a really strange problem and I can't for the life of me figure out why it's happening. I have Live 8 and am looking to use it to do some video/audio editing. I can import .MOV files into the arrangement view and view and listen to them fine. But one certain clip, the clip I really need, does not carry the audio into Live with it, just the video. The audio track is completely blank. But when I listen to the .MOV file on its own in Quicktime it plays the audio just fine. There's no difference between it and other .MOV files. Does anyone know what could be happening and if so, how to fix it?

Thanks!

I have this same issue. Some files work great, others no audio import. They all work in the quicktime player and are all quicktime files with .MOV extensions. I tried saving the file in quicktime as a new .mov file as well with no new success in Live.

same here. some are deemed "corrupt", and some imports with huge white noise bursts on the left channel.
this is only with live and i have updated everything, uninstalled, reinstalled, crossinstalled, reimported, and whatever the fuck else have you. only with live, and i know that the files are working because they are my own files recorded with my own gear and they are working properly everywhere else except in live.

tech support has yet to reply to me. i need these things to work and i need them to work NOW.
so, since shit isn't working no matter what the fuck i do i am forced to switch to another software.
fancy that.

Have you tried to load those files in Live 7 to see if it's a 8 problem ?

I'm guessing but there may be a problem with the audio bit rate or codec in the mov file. Try putting the file into format factory and resave it with the audio as 44.1, 16 bit. Or try putting the file into reaper and just render out the audio as a wav.

Hope this helps and you get sorted
