Mapping samples onto sampler

Hi, when dragging samples to sampler, they are automatically mapped to whole keys. so I have to drag the green bar to decide key zone and also root key for each sample. Couldn't it be much easier if I just hold down "ctrl" or "alt" and click for assigning left and right end of a sample zone? same idea for assigning root key. 
Or is there shortcut or command of filling a roll of those function? like pressing midi keys to assign?
Excuse my writing if it's confusing.
It is not my 1st language.
