Live 8 User manual Chapter 5.13.4

Please explain the Live 8 user manual Chapter 5.13.4 : "You can save Live Sets anywhere you want, but saving to the Library or pre-existing Project folders can cause problems."
I did not read that before starting, and now two-thirds of my storage space is used by files that are in the Library project folder, or sometimes inappropriate pre-existing Project folders.
What problems might occur?
What is the best remedy now that I've done that?

When you save a set it belongs to a project, the project folder is automatically created on the first save of a set, along with connected audio folders and other stuff.
If you try and make a whole new set (and therefore project) inside an existing project folder, it will be treated as part of that project. The two become hard to manage, for example when you 'manage' a project and it's samples (from the file menu), how to know what belongs with what? Which are the defunct recordings?
So it's better to create a new project not nested in another project. Various sets can live in there, if they are variants on that same project. But not other projects.
Lastly: Live's library is classed as a project!
So saving a project in there is considered a bad plan. I keep the library for Ableton content, my songs live on a different drive. Easier to back-up.

Just for anyone's information I include the following response from Marian at Customer Care:
Hi Thomas,
thank you for contacting Ableton!
The main problem when saving projects into the library or pre-existing projects are different issues with file references:
- missing audio files/recordings
- problems when updating the library
- problems when consolidating, freezing, recording, etc.
- in the worst case it might even be impossible to load certain Live sets
Different versions of the same Live set can be stored into the same project folder. But every different project should be stored in it's own project folder. Which shouldn't be inside the library or another project.
Unfortunately, there is no easy solution. I would suggest to open your project one by one and save them to a new location with "Save As..." first. Then gather all audio files of the project with "Collect All and Save".
The original project and audio files in the library or other project files can be deleted afterwards. For security reasons I would suggest to backup your hard drive before to avoid the risk of accidentally deleted files.
I will forward your feedback regarding the documentation internally.
