I have a weird problem, I've used TRacks3 with live 8.2 under XP¨without problem, but with my new system using Windows 7 TRacks is missing from the plugin list.
I've tried with a version of Live 7.0.18 under W7 and TRacks is in the list
any ideas ?

Did you install Live and the plugins as adminstrator?

I get a message everytime I install something requesting the administrator's OK, you know a popup, so yes.
And it wouldn't be recognized in Live 7, would it ?

I'm not familiar with TRacks, so this is just a stab in the dark, but is it a 32 bit / 64 bit thing? Even though W7 is 64 bit, you'll still need to run 32 bit VSTs in Live because it doesn't support 64 bit.

all is installed in 32bit
and again, TRacks works in Live 7 but not live 8, both under W7, both installed in the same way

PS I've desinstalled and re installed both Live 8.2.1 & 8.2.1 and T racks several times in case but no luck

All I know is that I had to install Live8 and some vst's as an adminstrator with right clicking the setup icon and selecting "open/run as adminstrator" to make Live "see" them. That's all. Regular install did not work even tho Win7 asks about it.

Hopefully you didn't install your 32 bit VSTs and 64 bit VSTs in the same folder.

to sum up: I've installed everything as administrator with the right click selection
All my VSTs are 32 bit.
I've also tried installing through the compatibility mode choosing XP SP2 then SP3, as TRacks worked under these with Live 8.
and again : TRackS works in Live7 under Windows 7 but not live 8. If anything was wrong with the install due to Windows7 it wouldn't work in any of the Live version.
Also I have crashes with the G-Force M-Tron, needs a hard reboot, upon Live re-launch it says, M-Tron is the cause of the previous crash and it won't be loaded anymore.

What a bummer...

Have you tried holding the 'Alt' key while pressing the 'Rescan' button? Forces a fresh scan of the whole plug in directory, and has fixed all of my problems with missing VST's.
