Mapping BCR2000 Buttons to Live 8 on 10.6.8

Hey guys,
I've done this successfully in the past, but it is giving me trouble now. The button control assignments from the BCR to Dubstation are getting stuck on. This seems to have something to do with the state of the plugs buttons (on or off) when assigned. But I am not sure.
Specifically, I am using this for the sync, mult, loop, and reverse functions of AD Dubstation.
OS, Live, the plug, and BCR firmware are up to date.
BCR is on it's own MIDI channel, so nothing is competing with it. But each time I launch the session, I have to fiddle with the MIDI settings to get the assignments to stick to the buttons. Usually the buttons are stuck "on" and lit, and pressing them does nothing. I just got the buttons unstuck by toggling the controls onscreen in the Live GUI for Dubstation.
This is a minor irritant, but I swear, a few years ago (Live 6, Dubstation 1, OS 10.4) I did not have to do this every time.
Anyone else having similar issues and a workaround?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if I missed a post covering this. I did a few searches and came up with nothing.
