Hi,

does anyone know of a simple, but high quality hardware highpass filter ?
No preamp, no eq, no compressor, only a highpass filter,
perhaps tunable between 50 and 120Hz...

Not tunable, but you get the idea.

ah, thanks, that's for mic signals, right ?
didn't think about that possibility.

the small form is good, but I would prefer it for
line signals and switches for bypass, frequency
and perhaps steepness would be good.
any recommendations ?

i'm mainly asking as using google for "highpass", "filter"
etc does not work very well...

Frostwave is a dual hp/lp filter based on a Korg MS-20 I think. It's a boutique hardware pedal, not sure who makes it, I bought it used.

It will not be used for music production at all, but for radio production.
It's supposed to be used where reporters produce their own stuff. Often they
capture their recordings through mixers that do not have a built in low cut
and they don't know how to achieve this in software. Rumble and plopps are the
main problem in productions. We need a way to FORCE a lowcut on the signal
path for everything that is captured.
So I'm not searching for "effect" filters.

The Shure Hi-Pass points in the right direction, but 100Hz is too high, and
some switching options would be nice...

Any 2-way crossover can function as a high-pass filter, even though they're intended for bi-amping PA systems. Most of the cheaper ones won't have filter slope but they all should have cut-off aka crossover frequency. They're line level and the circuits are so simple even the cheaper ones should sound fine.

why not just use a microphone with a roll off switch in the first place?
