Drumrack problem - samples wont play

Hello all!
I just started with Ableton Live. I really like it, but I have run into a weird(?) problem:
When I play a sample any other place, it plays through the whole sample...example a kick, perc, clap, etc...when I load it into the drum machine, it only plays a part of the sample, the beginning...even though it is set to play the whole thing (the sliders on the beginning / end of the track). I have to hold the play button for the sample (loaded in the pad) for it to play the whole thing, if not, it cuts after aprox 0.00:100
Anybody that can help me out on this?
