Live 7 memory limitations. Good workarounds?

Hey Everyone in Ableton land,
I am at work on a set in Live 7, and am hitting the memory limit. i'm on a brand new mbp, with 8 gigs of ram (which evidently live can only use half of). The set so far consists of 65 midi channels (most channels are an instrument and at least 1 fx). What are the best workarounds to reduce the amount of memory usage of this set, so i can continue to expand the number of midi channels i can load into it (i really want to be able to double the current number of channels). I have tried freezing a number of channels, but that seems to have not helped. When i try to add a new midi channel, Live is crashing. I have 2 weeks before I'm scheduled to debut this set, so i need to get this worked out as quick as possible.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
thanks
max
