Simple question about why hitting stop retriggers clip

When I just want to stop the arrangement, and I either hit the stop button with the mouse or hit the spacebar, Live doesn't stop. It plays from Bar 1 beat 1 and the selected clip gets retriggered. Is there a preference I am missing? I looked through them and didn't see anything. I'm on OSX 10.6.8 with Live 8.2.2.
