Hi,

since my last update I have a button saying "Click to preview" in my preview browser. How can I get rid of this thing? I want to click my clips and the should play. Is this still possible?

kind regards,
bd

Click on the headphone icon at the top of the browser.

I see where this is going. If I preview .wav-files the previewing works. By "works" I mean, I click on the .wav-file in the browser and the file starts to play in an instant. If I click on the small headphone icon, the file doesn't start playing.

If I click on my .alc-File I have to hit the "Click to preview"-Button. Clicking on the small headphone icon changes nothing. Any more ideas?

kind regards,
bd

It's probably because the file you are previewing requires midi devices to be loaded in order to play the sound.

No, it's just a simple .alc-file. It's an audio track I dragged into the session edit earlier. I edited the clip, normalized it, warped and set the loop points right. Then I saved this clip to my clip library.

"click to preview" appeared for clips in Live 8, I think it was because previously you could accidentally select a clip and it would autoplay, and if that clip contained something massive like Session Drums multi-mic it would all get a little unresponsive. So they added this thing to prevent that situation.

The best 'solution' is : you can preview using the arrow keys, up and down to puck the clip, right to play.

this works quite well once you get used to it.
