A Pitch Shifter!

Frequency Shifter is a whacky effect for pitch stuff and I know audio clips can be pitch shifted and sound great.
BUT!! How about a real-time plug in that simply allows pitch shifting? So it could be set to a specific note or octave etc.
I imagine this is hard to do, though Mackie's Tracktion has a pitch shifter plugin that works with pretty reasonable results.
Or if any of you Ableton users can recommend a simple pitch shifter VST/AU plugin, that'd be great.
Cheers.

it will be great to have a nice sounding pitch shifter in live (i like grain delay but..a tool more like eventide, soundhack, grm, little endian etc..kind of pitch shifters), to help making pure sound design .

grain delay is a perfectly good pitch shifter, infact a really good one, when used with the right setting.

+1. I can make grain delay work but I want a simple plug in device for pitch shifting alone.
I've found some Max for Live stuff but the latency is often ridiculous.

M4L probably have this, but it would be also nice for regular Live users to have as well.

Ah! I didn't realise Grain Delay worked like that. That's quite nice. Not perfect, but the granular stepping is also potentially useful for some digital processing.
