First beat not recording when bouncing Impulse to audio...

Help!

When I try to record a MIDI Impulse track into a Audio clip, the first beat of the Impulse loop does not get recorded. For example - if I was to record a 4 beat kick-hat loop, the first kick beat will not be recorded - it will just be blank space. The first hat will be there, but the first drum beat is not.

I just upgraded to 4.1, and I know this was not the case in 3.0. Maybe I am missing something - please help!

Mac TiBook 550, 1 gig, OS 9.2.2, 5400 RPM HD, Live 4.1, Edirol UA-25

Live 3 didn't have midi

Have you checked if the kick drum midi event starts before the beginning of the loop? If so, that's the reason.

Sorry, sorry - I know there was no midi in Live 3, but I meant this wasn't happening when I was bouncing audio track to audio track...

Also, I checked and all MIDI information starts before the beginning of the loop I ma trying to bounce.

I'd say this action (dropping the first beat when bouncing MIDI to audio..) happens about 75% percent of the time I try to bounce. Trying it multiple times will result in it working, but it sure slows down the workflow.

okay, but the idea is that the first midi note has to start after or exactly on the beginning of the loop. if it starts before the loop, it won't be bounced.

Wow - my communication skills are at a low level... I meant to say that all MIDI information begins right at, or right after, the start of the loop I am trying to bounce to an audio track. However, it should be noted that even if the segments within the bar are set to a very fine level (1/32), as long as a sound is not triggered on the first box within the loop - it will record fine. I.e. - when recording a kick / hat 1 bar loop, the first bass kick will USUALLY not be recorded. The wave shows that the time has been recorded, but that first kick always seems to be empty space.

He he, that reminds me of the 'First beat silent bug' with Microtonic (see this thread on this forum). Abe's people suggested this was caused by Microtonic, but it seems it may as well come from the Live's side.

strange.... i'm sorry to say i don't have any other idea about the problem.
