mashing songs

newb.
just got AMC 40.
win7x64
tried all the tutorials, and am lost.
i would like to import a few songs and mash them up.
other things i don't find intuitive are :
-drum machine ...can this thing behave like a drum machine ?
-sound mahcine ..can this also make freak sounds, or vocals ? even from a mic
- where is the "import" button ?
