Velocity & Volume strangeness in Simpler/Sampler

I could not find anything in the manual about the velocity curves and settings, so i thought i share my expierence with you.
Below are the settings required to get a unity gain from Sampler on a velocity of 127:
Velocity = Volume
0% = 0db
25% = -5.7db [-6db]
50% = -11.4db [-12db]
75% = -17.1db [-18db]
100% = -22.8db [-24db]
The numbers look like a round off error.
Does anybody else think that those numbers are strange?
As the percentage and db are linear i suspect the curve to be non-linear.
PS: I always thought that the percentage setting should not affect the maximum volume, only the minimum...
