Ive found the last couple of times i've played out, ive found that my UC33 disconnects itself from the apple - i have to unplug the usb cable - plug it back in then go to preferences and set it up again for input/output.

ive no idea why this would be happeing !!

never had this problem on either PC or Mac, but be happy that you aren't on PC, where you'd have to reboot live (or fuss with a 3rd party translator like MidiOX) to be able to turn off, and turn back on the UC33. on apple you can do it all while live is running.

have you tried using the other usb port?

not yet.

you know its never happened at home, only when in clubs - so im thinking the volume or maybe vibrations may have soemthing to do with it perhaps??

fancy seeing you on here!

Had similar problems with my PC laptop. The controller stops responding mid-set, and the whole thing needs rebooting. Sometimes, it's necessary to re-install the drivers.

My UC33 is usb powered off the lappy.

Perhaps one likely cause is the power connection.... the controller problems always happen if I plug-unplug the power cable to the laptop while ableton is running. Also, did a gig in berlin once (different power sockets from UK) and the same problem occurred. Power spikes, perhaps?

quiet you.

Anyway...finally got a reply from evolution on this and they reckon it is a power thing which will be solved by simply using the UC33 on its own power supply.

Heres hoping.

Have you tried a different USB cable?

Also, when this problem occurs, is your mac running on batteries or on external power?

Get one of these, that way if you trainwreck during a livePA, you can at least do some liquid with your uc33 and impress all the raver kiddies in the crowd. =)
